Our signature frames are individually handcrafted by my wife Danay from recycle lobster trap wood collected from the pristine waters of the Florida Keys making each one unique, no two frames are alike. Danay has master Wabi-Sabi: the art of imperfection. Emerging in the 15th century as a reaction to the prevailing aesthetic of lavishness, ornamentation, and rich materials, wabi-sabi is the art of finding beauty in imperfection and profundity in earthiness, of revering authenticity above all. Every year we recycle thousands of pounds of wood from the local Fishermans. We at Key West Sunsets believe that recycling through the arts is a way to help preserve our Forest and clean our Oceans.
